French scientist Edmond Becquerel discovers the photovoltaic effect while experimenting with an electrolytic cell made up of two metal electrodes placed in an electricity-conducting solution—electricity-generation increased when exposed to light. His dream was to cover houses with solar panels to generate power for the household. In 1954 photovoltaic technology is born in the United States when Daryl Chapin, Calvin Fuller, and Gerald Pearson develop the silicon photovoltaic (PV) cell with 6% efficiency at Bell Labs — the first solar cell capable of converting enough of the sun's energy into power to run everyday electrical equipment.

Why do I need a solar panel system?

Solar panels produce electricity from solar radiation. The system transforms the direct current thus obtained into alternating current through the use of an inverter, which can be used directly for operating any standard electrical equipment. It generates renewable and clean energy and is an eco-friendly device, unlike solutions that use coal and other fossil fuels. There are no moving parts, it is extremely reliable and has an expected lifespan of several decades. It is easy to install and the maintenance costs are minimal.

The core components of a grid connect solar power system are the panels, inverter and mounting system. External to the system is the meter, which must also be compatible with the system.

There are two main types of solar power system based on whether they are connected to the grid or not.

An off grid solar power system is completely separated from mains power and is more expensive as it utilizes a battery bank for storing electricity generated by solar panels. Orientation and tilting

The basic condition of operating a solar equipment is to have the Sun shining on it.
It's important to place the solar equipment so it gets most sun possible, during the full path of the sun. We recommend the angle of your absorber area to be close to 45 degrees. This will optimize the weaker ends of the season.
